Another birthday is going down in the books for my husband – he’s celebrating his 43rd birthday this year!
It’s my husband’s 43rd birthday this year and as usual, he tells me not to “do anything special”. This is a man who has been an incredible blessing in my life and made me believe in love again. How can I not do something special for him?! If you have a moment, please comment and leave him some birthday cheer!
This wonderful bearded man with me in the picture above is my husband, Patrick. We went on our first date October 4th, 2006 and have been inseparable ever since! We’re human and yes, we have our ups and downs just like everyone else, but the one thing that keeps us happy is our open line of communication. We have always found a way to work through anything — as long as we communicate.
We went through one of the roughest things any set of parents can go through last summer. We lost a child. I had my tubes cut, tied, and burned almost 12 years ago immediately after my second son was born. Patrick knew from the very first date that I wouldn’t be able to give him more children. That’s why when I ended up in the hospital on July 4th, 2017, we were floored when the doctor told us we were expecting. That news was quickly followed by the heartbreak that our child wasn’t going to survive. Even scarier — I almost didn’t survive. Had I been stubborn any longer, I would have died from internal bleeding. I’m grateful for a husband who pushes me when I need it the most.
This is a man who drops everything when one of our children (he has 2 from a previous marriage and I have 2 from mine – collectively, they are “ours”) needs something. He cares for them when they’re sick and you’ll find him right beside me at every ball game. He’s there for advice and there for the discipline, too.
My husband supports my dreams but he’s also willing to tell me when my head starts floating too high in the clouds. He keeps my feet on the ground and helps me reach the stars. The balance we have together works.
I never believed in soul mates until I met Patrick; but, I fully believe that we were made for one another. He loves me unconditionally, endlessly, and he looks good while doing it! So to my husband, on your special day, Happy Birthday My Love! Forever and Always!
Happy Birthday to your husband! I’m turning 43 this fall.
Thank you! Happy (early!) birthday to you!!
