Celebrate National Root Beer Float Day with our new favorite Virgil’s Handcrafted Root Beer and Black Cherry! Perfect for the end to summer!
It’s rare that we have dessert (unless we have a birthday or anniversary to celebrate). Since my boys have headed back to school, I wanted to do something extra special. They’re both in high school now and I won’t get too many more opportunities to spoil them a little.
Since National Root Beer Float Day is August 6th this year, I thought it would be the perfect time to combine the celebrations. We were given the opportunity to give Virgil’s Handcrafted Root Beer a try. They also sent us some of the Black Cherry — it was amazing!
A little history…
Way back in 1893, Frank J. Wisner had a bit of an epiphany in Colorado. He was surrounded by Cow Mountain. When they had snow-covered peaks, Frank imagined ice cream floating in root beer. Sometimes referred to as a Black Cow, a Root Beer Float is one of summer’s best treats!
About Virgil’s Handcrafted Root Beer
Before hand-crafting was a thing, Virgil had a vision to create a refreshing beverage that tasted like something not of this world, even heavenly. Carefully blending the finest natural ingredients and adding layers of flavors, he created an experience that is rich, bold and complex. What you have in your hand is the result. Perhaps the best-tasting craft soda this world, or any other for that matter, has ever known.
