Hot Chocolate Bombs hit the world by storm and haven’t seemed to slow down. I am always amazed by the creativity people have when it comes to the delicious chocolate that melts in a warm glass of milk, creating a smooth drink.

Here in the South, we have two options for weather when it comes to Halloween. Either it’s rainy and chilly or decides to try and hold onto one last remnant of summer with unseasonably warm temperatures. There really isn’t an in-between option. I always wish for the cooler temperatures to enjoy hot cider and other assorted warm beverages.

These Jack Skellington-themed hot chocolate bombs are perfect regardless of the temperature and are super easy to make. This particular recipe makes three at a time and can be used for Halloween parties, school party treats, and more. You’ll need to have a silicone hot chocolate bomb mold – I recommend the 2.5 inch!

Ingredients and Tools to Make Jack Skellington Hot Chocolate Bombs:

  • White chocolate wafers
  • Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix
  • Marshmallows or mini marshmallows
  • Black sparkle gel
  • Dome/cocoa bomb mold
  • Spoon
  • Frying pan

How to Make Jack Skellington Hot Chocolate Bombs:

Melt white chocolate wafer candy melts to the package directions in the microwave.

Add white chocolate wafer melts to the dome mold and spread with the back of a spoon. Do this in one thin layer to coat then place in freezer for 10 minutes. Take it back out and coat only where you can see through the mold. If you cannot see through the mold you do not need to add more. You want the bomb to stay together but not be too thick.

If you add more to the see through spots then place back in the freezer for another 10 minutes. Remove from the freezer and carefully pop out the each side of the bombs. Place on a plate.

Heat a frying pan to low heat. Place one side of the bomb rim open side down onto the frying pan. This will lightly melt and even out the edges. Quickly add about 2 tablespoons cocoa mix to the bomb and marshmallows. Melt the other side of the bombs rim and then place evenly with the other side.

This will seal them together evenly. Do not add hot chocolate to the outside as it will just melt the bomb. If you have a hole then add cooled chocolate to the outside or re-melt the candy melts and try again.

Draw on Jack Skellington’s face with the black sparkle gel. Keep in fridge until ready to serve.

Serve in about 3 cups hot milk.
