During the cooler evenings of the year, sometimes it’s nice to relax with a warm drink that helps you relax. This spiced apple drink recipe is the perfect treat to make all throughout the season. It can be made with or without the rum to fit your personal preference.

Apples are abundant this time of year and the best part is that you can use whatever kind you like to make this punch! I like to use a mixture of Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Fuji. But feel free to make it all your own with a different variety. You seriously cannot go wrong.

The recipe can be easily doubled if you are serving more guests and even made ahead of time. Just keep it in a covered pot and bring back to warm over low heat when you’re ready to serve. For a gorgeous visual, add fresh slices of apples to each glass and a stick or two of cinnamon.

Whether you enjoy this after dinner, with dinner, or during a party, all your guests will be asking for the apple punch recipe! If you choose to make it without the rum, simply substitute more apple juice in place of it!

How to Make Spiked Hot Apple Punch:

Place apple juice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange slices, and apples in a medium pot over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it simmer 10 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in dark rum, if using. Serve immediately and garnish with extra apple slices and cinnamon sticks. Enjoy!

  • 2 oranges, sliced 1/4” thick
  • 3 assorted apples, cored and sliced into wedges
  • 1 cup dark rum (optional)
