One perk of making fruity frozen cocktails is that you donโt need to splurge on the most expensive liqueurs to achieve fantastic results. However, you will need a good quality tequila, an orange liqueur, such as Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or regular triple sec, and some fresh lime juice to pull it all together.
Each sip is incredibly refreshing, whether it’s made with the alcohol or if you opt for mocktails. Once you learn how to make frozen strawberry margaritas at home, you will keep the ingredients on hand to make them more often. I typically opt for a margarita on the rocks, but during the summer, nothing quite beats a delicious frozen cocktail.
Try some of my other frozen summer drinks:

What’s in strawberry margaritas?
For the alcohol version, you’ll need a pound of frozen strawberries, two large limes, your favorite tequila, orange-flavored liqueur such as Cointreau, and some lime wheels and fresh strawberries to garnish.
If you decide to go sans alcohol, you will need a pound of frozen strawberries, two large oranges, three limes, water, and lime wheels and fresh strawberries to garnish your glasses. You may also want to grab some simple syrup if you want to sweeten the drinks a bit more. This can easily be made at home or bought premade!
For both versions, you will want to also have ice on hand in case you need to adjust the consistency after blending. Salt or sugar for the rim is optional and completely a personal preference. If I use any, I prefer a sugar rim to a salt.
To me, these taste like summer (minus the heat and stickiness of the humidity). Each sip is sweet and smooth, perfect for the poolside, beach, or even your front porch. Make up a double batch for when you have guests!

How to Make Frozen Strawberry Margaritas at Home:
Alcohol Version:
Place half the frozen strawberries into a high-powered blender. Add lime juice, tequila, and orange-flavored liquor. Cover and blend on highest setting until smooth, approximately 1-2 minutes.
Remove vent cap on blender lid and add the remaining frozen strawberries one at a time while the blender is still running. Continue blending until all strawberries have been added and the mixture is completely smooth.
Note: For thicker margaritas, add some ice until desired consistency is reached. For thinner consistency, add a little water.
Pour into serving glasses and garnish with lime wheels and/or fresh strawberries right before serving. Enjoy!
Non-Alcohol Version:
Prepare as described for the cocktail version, but replace the ingredients described in Step #1 with those listed.
