Fresh Homemade Salsa will have your taste buds smiling because of the fantastic flavors. Made in about 15 minutes, it’s the perfect appetizer for your favorite Mexican dinners!

Fresh Homemade Salsa is the perfect appetizer!
When I’m looking for the perfect snack, I always fall back to tortilla chips and salsa. Jars of salsa are okay; but nothing quite beats a fresh made batch! This recipe is easy and it makes enough for two to four servings. The smaller serving size is perfect for snacks and serving with meals.
In addition to eating with chips, using salsa as a marinade or spread upgrades your dishes. Did you know it can also be added to cocktails like Margaritas and a Bloody Mary!
Salsa can be prepared using a food processor/blender or you could go old school and use a mortar and pestle.

Fresh Homemade Salsa Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh tomatoes, divided
½ large jalapeño, seeded, divided
½ large white onion, divided
½ cup fresh cilantro, divided
2-3 large cloves garlic, peeled
½ teaspoon coarse sea salt
2-3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Instructions:
Divide the tomatoes, jalapeño, onion, and cilantro equally into two groups.
Roughly chop one group and add to a high-powered blender or food processor, along with the garlic. Sprinkle with sea salt and pulse until the tomatoes, jalapeño, onion, cilantro, and garlic are thoroughly combined, but not completely liquified. Transfer to a large, non-reactive bowl and set aside.
Finely dice the remaining tomatoes, jalapeño, onion, and cilantro, and add to the bowl with the tomato mixture. Add the fresh lime juice and stir to combine. Taste and add additional salt and fresh lime juice, if desired.
Serve immediately or cover and refrigerator overnight to allow the flavors to mingle. Enjoy!
